The Friends of Hakim Zayach played a game with perseverance and resistance against the attacks of Croatia that were close to the goal in two or three times with a very good performance of the Moroccan keeper Yassin Bounou, on the other side The Atlas Lion came close to scoring in three times too but without positive result after an attack of Zayach and En- Nesyri in the first half, and a spectacular shot of Hakimi in the second half.
Morocco and Croatia made changes in the second half to rectify the situation, coach Walid Regragui brought in Ezzalzouli, Hamdallah and Sabiri while Boufal En-Nesyri and Ounahi returned to the bench; and due to injury Attiyat-Allah replaced Mazraoui which gave a new lease of life but in vein.
